This is Mellon Colin checking in. Check out this link y'all: http://trinityhiphop.org/. Trinity's International Hip-Hop festival is going on THIS WEEKEND today, Friday, through Saturday bring MCs, DJs, breakers, and graffiti artists from all over the globe together for a weekend that is purely hip-hop. If that doesn't persuade you, legendary MC KRS-One is going to be there. Sure, Kid Cudi's coming to campus on Saturday night, but the real hip-hop will be in Hartford this weekend, not Storrs. If you can't make it to the festival, make sure to tune into the show Sunday night to hear all about it! Peace!

Very special show coming to you this week. We look to return the Infinite Party's favorite special guests Joe Crack and T-Mac, and drop some ill freestyles. The playlist will emphasize rap lyricism, and we'll be bringing a ton of energy to the studio due to the fact that Jimbo and I are on spring break!

Wa’ppun rude bwoy? Very excited for tonight's show. We're cooking up something bumboclat special for y'all with some rocka jams. We gon get unda gal pickney, undastan? (If you didn't catch that, you're probably not Jamaican or don't have a Jamaican glossary handy.) Also, we plan to disrespect women and acquire currency with the latter hour of the show focusing classic hip-hop. Jimbo's holding that down, so I don't really know what's going on there. Expect some Wu-Tang for sure, though. Much reespek. Show's at 12AM. Don't forget to set your calendar.

This week's show was ill. We had an active audience, and some lively convo. If you missed any part of the show or just want to listen again (I can't imagine why someone wouldn't want to listen to mine and Jimbo's sexy voices all day), the podcast is posted! Inspired by our recent viewing of the 80s hip-hop classic movie Krush Groove, Jimbo's playlist highlighted artists like Run-DMC, EPMD & Slick Rick with myself throwing on a couple of early 90s tracks at the end. My rock playlist also paid homage to the Old School as I played time-tested classics by artists like Muddy Waters, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

Jimbo & I are very satisfied with the way the show went last week. We had fun like we always do, but there's nothing better than having an audience for our art. Make sure to tune in for tonight's show starting at 12AM live at 91.7 on your FM dial or streaming online at whus.org as we pay homage to the old school, rap and rock's golden ages. As LL Cool J says, "You know I can't live without my radio!"

What's good people? This is Jimbo reporting some important news for our devout listeners. The week of 2/7 - 2/13 is our last week at the Wednesday 5am-7am slot; so make sure to tune in at 5am on 2/10 to hear our final broadcast from that time.
Our new time slot will be Monday's 12am - 2am (Sunday night for all you night owls). Expect some more flexible playlists since both hours of our show will now be under safe harbor. I know Mellon Colin and I are both ecstatic for this new time slot and you should be to.

Wuddup everyone, it's Mellon Colin. Make sure to check out the 01/13 show. Joe Crack returns to the show and my good friend T-Macadocious makes his first appearance. I can promise good beats, laughs and, of course, freestyles. Oh, and I threw a pretty decent playlist together for the second half of the show. Don't miss out.

This is Jimbo dropping some knowledge with his new admin capabilities. Last week we took a look back on the decade and we will be continuing with that theme with our second volume tonight. I decided to play the mainstream songs that stood out to me, but now I have to show love to the underground. Colin will have the brunt of this show since I ran a bit over my time budget last Wednesday. Either way we should have an awesome show lined up, so be on the look out.

Finals are over, grades are in and all is well in the universe. Jimbo and I are planning something grand for the next show on 12/23 (5-7AM, you know the time!). I'm thinking that perhaps with the book closing on this decade we might do a retrospective look on our favorite music of the 00s... It'll take some work, but I'm confident that we can put on a show everyone will want to hear. Hope you're all getting as nogged up this Christmas season as I am!

I'm headed out to see
Andrew Bird in RI tonight, but fear not, I'll be back for the show. If anyone reads this before the show, I'll be surprised. Haha. Things are back to normal--Jimbo's on the hip-hop and I'm on the rock. Make sure to check us out live 5-7AM at whus.org, but if you're not up, the show should be posted on the website directly after. Enjoy!

Today I held down the studio for a few hours as UConn dealt with the chaos of this morning's stabbing. It was pretty emotional, and I believe that the show should be posted soon. I did a lot of talking, but played some great rock, both newer indie and classic Beatles and Allman Brothers. It's a rough time, so I tried to put on a good show. I'm excited because I just learned that our website is accessible off of the Show Schedule on whus.org. Have a good Sunday, all.
